Central Texas Dental Assisting has been educating students for over ten years with an emphasis placed on hands on education. The program lasts for ten weeks and is developed to allow you to continue your current job while gaining the knowledge necessary to begin your career in Dental Assisting. Our classes are held on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and are generally offered three times a year. The classes take place at Dr. Donnelly’s office which is conveniently located near IH35 between Austin and San Antonio in San Marcos, Texas. Your learning is conducted in an actual practicing dental office with state of the art equipment including digital x-rays. You are also given the opportunity to observe in Dr. Donnelly’s office during normal hours. This will allow you to gain actual clinical experience working with real patients. Dental Assistants are literally the dentists third and fourth hands, thus extremely important members of the dental healthcare team. This career is in great demand in our area, and based on the population growth in the Hill Country, demand will continue to increase.

Course Information

Central Texas Dental Assisting is taught in partnership with the Continuing Education Department at Texas State University (www.txstate.edu/continuinged/). Our course is unique in that it is held in an actual practicing dental office giving students the ability to learn hands on with state of the art equipment that they will be using in their new career. The teaching is stimulating, fast paced and relies heavily on your participation. Your instructors are experienced and practicing Dental Assistant Professionals who are highly qualified to help you learn the skills of the trade.

We have years of experience helping students learn the art of dental assisting and have structured our course with an emphasis on the latest techniques and technology training. All classes meet on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in order for you to continue your current job while learning for your new career. Our class size does not exceed 15 in order to ensure you are given the practice time and assistance to feel confident in your abilities. Upon completion of the course you will receive a certificate of achievement and dental assisting pin. Classes do fill quickly so register at your earliest convenience in order to guarantee your place in the class.

Tuition and Registration

You are required to wear scrubs and clean tennis shoes to each class. The class itself takes place in an actual dental office where you learn using the latest equipment from highly trained practicing dental assistants with years of experience. Scheduling is made easy since the class is held every Saturday for ten weeks from 8a.m.-5p.m.

Tuition for Central Texas Dental Assisting is $2695.00 and registration for the class is held through the Continuing Education Department at Texas State University. Please register early in order to ensure your spot in the class as size is limited to 15 students per session.
